Registration Deadline Extended to **May 11th ** The College of Humanities and Social Sciences (CHSS) of Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU) in Qatar will organize the first international Fake News Detection Contest (Shared Task) co-located with the Qatar International Cybersecurity Contest. https://www.hbku.edu.qa/en/qicc
1- Target Languages: English and Arabic 2- Contest Tracks Track 1: Applications Building (suitable for those with an NLP/ machine learning background). You will be asked to build a system to detect fake news (in English or in Arabic), a training dataset will be provided for both languages before the contest and the participants will spend 3 days in Doha to train, refine and test their system, a panel of judges will evaluate the output of the systems prior to the awards session. Track 2: Dataset Creation (Suitable for everyone) During the 3 days of the contest, teams will compete to create the largest and most accurate annotated dataset of FakeNews in English or in Arabic. A panel of judges will evaluate the dataset created prior to the awards session. 3- Target Audience The contest is mostly targeting graduate and undergraduate students but applications from the general public not affiliated with a University will be also considered. 4- Registration Procedure (Before May 11th) In order to be considered in this contest, at this point, you are only expected to fill the form below with all the required details (Team name, emails, affiliation, etc.).
