PapersClic-it 2019 (Italian Conference on Computational Linguistics)Bari, 13-15
November 2019**Regular, Position and Survey Papers submission deadline:
30/06/2019**http://clic2019.di.uniba.it/==========================================================The
Italian Conference on Computational Linguistics, CLiC-it, aims atestablishing
a reference forum for the Italian community ofresearchers working in the fields
of Computational Linguistics (CL)and Natural Language Processing (NLP). CLiC-it
promotes anddisseminates high-level, original research on all aspects of
automaticlanguage processing, both written and spoken, and
targetsstate-of-the-art theoretical results, experimental
methodologies, technologies, as well as application perspectives, which
maycontribute to the advancement of the CL and NLP fields. The spirit of the
conference is inclusive. In the conviction that thecomplexity of language
phenomena needs cross-disciplinary competences,CLiC-it intends to bring
together researchers of related disciplinessuch as Computational Linguistics,
Natural Language Processing,Linguistics, Cognitive Science, Machine Learning,
Computer Science,Knowledge Representation, Information Retrieval, and
DigitalHumanities. CLiC-it is open to contributions on all languages, with
aparticular emphasis on Italian. The sixth edition of CLiC-it will be held in
Bari, on 13-15 November,2019. CLiC-it is an initiative of the Italian
Association ofComputational Linguistics (AILC — http://www.ai-lc.it).**Invited
Speakers**Raquel Fernández, ILLC, University of Amsterdam, The NetherlandAndrea
Moro, IUSS - School for Advanced Studies of Pavia, Italy**Tutorial**Dirk Hovy,
Bocconi University - Milan, ItalyRequirementsThe conference invites the
submission of papers on all aspects ofautomated language processing. Relevant
topics for the conferenceinclude, but are not limited to, the following
ones:Dialogue, Discourse and Natural Language GenerationEntity Linking, Open

We invitepapers in theoretical computational linguistics,
empirical/data-drivenapproaches, resources and their evaluation, as well as
NLPapplications and tools. We also invite papers describing a challengein the
field, position papers, survey papers, and papers that describea negative
result.Submission FormatThis year the conference will accept the following
types of papers:Regular papersPosition papersSurvey papersResearch
communicationsRegular and Position papers may consist of up to five (5) pages
ofcontent, and two (2) additional pages of references. Survey papers mayconsist
of up to six (6) pages of content, and unlimited additionalpages of references.
Papers can be either in English or Italian, withthe abstract both in English
and Italian for papers in Italian. Papersin English are encouraged. Accepted
papers will be published on-lineand will be presented at the conference either
orally or as a poster. For Research communications (see below) a two (2) page
abstract isrequired.Submissions should follow the ACL two-column format. We
stronglyrecommend the use of LaTeX style files or Microsoft Word style
filesaccording to the ACL format, which will be available on the
conferencewebsite under “Information for Authors”.Submissions must be
electronic in PDF, by using the EasyChairsubmission software (the EasyChair
link will be available soon).Reviewing will NOT be blind, so there is no need
to remove authorinformation from manuscripts.Research CommunicationsWe are also
favouring a parallel submission policy for outstandingpapers that have been
submitted and accepted elsewhere in 2019. If youare the author of a paper
accepted at a major international CLconference or journal in 2019, you can
present your work at CLiC-it2019 in the form of a short research communication,
within a dedicatedsession at the conference. Research communications will not
bepublished in the proceedings, but are mostly intended to enforcedissemination
of excellence in research within the Italian CLcommunity.AwardsIn order to
award the work of young researchers, the title of “bestpaper” will be
attributed to the best paper in different researchareas with a Master/PhD
student as the first author and presenting thework at the conference. The
awarded authors will be invited to submitan extended version of their papers to
the Italian Journal ofComputational Linguistics (IJCoL).To recognise excellence
in student research as well as promoteawareness of our field and with the
endorsement of AILC, we areconferring a prize for the best Master Thesis
(Laurea Magistrale) inComputational Linguistics submitted at an Italian
University. Theprize consists of 500 euros plus free membership to AILC for one
yearand free registration to the upcoming CLiC-it, where the author willhave
the chance to present her/his thesis. The complete call will beavailable on the
conference website under the path: “Calls > AILCMaster Thesis Award”.Important
