Thanks very much. We already did make a change to branch_08X to fix
newer versions of libtool, but with my fantastic memory :) I can't
remember if that was it or not. I'll have a look and see if this is
applicable to CVS.

I'm not a autoconf/automake/libtool expert either, so everything helps.
