Hi!

I guess a good fix for the autogen.sh problem is to put

AC_PREREQ(2.54)

somewhere into the configure.in files.
This allows the gentoo scripts to decide to take a newer version
of >=autoreconf-2.54 than  and >= automake-1.6.

Does it work for anyone with lower versions anyways?

automake-1.5 definitively creates a broken configure.in for me.

But I did not test which the the lowest autoreconf version is for me.
Must definitively be higher than autoconf-2.13 but the next installed
version I have is 2.59.
