But are you still paying a monthly rent as well? Are you independent?

I am 60/40. I supply product and equipment but they promote me and I can use
the debit machine. I prefer this over working out of a cash box.

For those of you who do this- do YOU collect the money or does the salon?

I also agree with Diana. You are not getting 80% if you also have to pay $50 in
rent. I would say one or the other. And if you did pay her 20% of you earnings,
is there a cap, Like up to $300 or 500 a month? Once you reach the cap then you
don't have to pay anymore for that month. You should have a time period for
this kind of rent, like 6 months or a year. Then it should go to straight
rent. If I were a salon owner and was faced with this situation, I think I
would want 30% of your total intake up to and not over set rent amount and you
supply all supplies, adv ect...for booth rent, and a set time limit on this so
I would know when I could count on my full rent check. JMHO.

I totally agree with Diana... It's either rent, or commission...

Michelle, sorry I don't like it.  It is just so not an IC.  You pay
rent, you buy supplies, you keep money.

I would rather see something like okay, I will do this, while I am
starting out, but when I reach a certain dollar amount, then I want
to switch over to full IC, (increase rent, no extra money given to owner).

What happens when you build a clientele, and all of a sudden she
says, okay your rent goes up to 100 dollars, plus the 20%? Sorry, in
my opinion this is not an IC situation.  diana from indiana
