Well, Thanks to everyone who has answered so far. I knew I could count on you guys!! LOL...Lorraine...I knew not to soak it off on acrylic... but was curious as to how hard it would actually be to remove it when it's time.
I just really needed to know weather or not I needed the base coat for sure. She was loving the fact that it's wearing so much better than polish. ________________________________ From: Manicures That Last <sa...@manicuresthatlast.com> To: nailtech@googlegroups.com Sent: Sunday, April 17, 2011 5:41 PM Subject: Re: NailTech:: quick question about gel polish At 05:13 PM 4/17/2011, you wrote: Ok so, I put some shellac on my cousin over top of her gel enhancements. Soaking UVGP off over acrylic will break down the acrylic so that's a really bad idea :) No, you don;t need to use base. Do your final shaping, apply the color layers and cure. In this case you can top with any gel top coat. If you are only using UVGP, it is recommended you use a soak off top coat, hard gel top coats might cause the softer gel underneath to shatter.
