Probably, you have no nssock module installed. ns_sock uses the network drivers 
installed, and in case, your configuration network does not include it, it is 
not available. If you want to use a driver module, but you do not want to 
listen on a port, configure the port with the value 0

Same as above. When “nsd -c” is called, no network drivers are loaded
