Just a reminder that we will have our October Neartown Meeting thisTuesday,
October 23rd beginning at 7pm at Cherryhurst CommunityCenter.
This will be an extended meeting through 9:00 as wewill have a full program.
The agenda is as follows:
7:00 - 7:30 Dr. Abe Saavaedra to discuss the HISD bond issue
7:30 - 8:00 Neartown business; Council Member Sue Lovell
8:00 - 8:15 HISD School Board Trustee Candidates
8:15 - 9:00 District D Candidate Forum
Note that in order to keep things structured and organized we have preselected
questions for the candidates to answer based upon feedback from the Civic
Association Presidents. These include crime, historic preservation and social
issues. This should ensure that we get good coverage from the candidates based
on their views on these issues and will hopefully ensure that we do not get
bogged down on a single issue for the entire time of the forum.
While we have 2 hours scheduled, it will be a very full two hours. The meeting
will start promptly at 7pm. Please ensure that you do your best to arrive on
time for the meeting.
