Hi, I have snmpd query size of the partitions, with some partitions/mount points in a restricted directory. I added snmp user to group(misc) that has access. drwxr-x--- 14 misc misc
/etc/group misc:x:1001:snmp When ever snmpd is queried, I get Permission denied for snmpd, and snmpd can't query the size of the partitions. I've worked out that for some reason the process is not inheriting the group misc, even thou the user snmp is definly part of it. su -c "groups" -s /bin/bash snmp nogroup misc For testing I ran the following: snmpd -f -Lo -u snmp Also tried -g misc but seemed to have no affect. If I run snmpd as root or misc it has no problems accessing the directory. I'm not sure if this is a bug or I'm forgetting some option. snmpd version 5.2.3-7 Debian etch/stable Linux kernel 2.6.18-4-686 Thanks -- Shaun Hofer Email: [EMAIL PROTECTED] ******************************************************* If you receive this email by mistake, please notify us and do not make any use of the email.
