Hi, This Thinkpad has an ipw wireless interface. My wireless basestation's about 10 feet away, and because WPA2 isn't supported yet I'm just using MAC address filtering to "secure" the connection. I'm using nwam on OS build 93.
The problem is, the interface keeps dropping and then a couple of seconds later coming back up again: > Jul 17 18:59:36 shrek ipw: [ID 451854 kern.warning] WARNING: ipw0: ipw: RADIO > is OFF > Jul 17 18:59:36 shrek last message repeated 1 time > Jul 17 18:59:36 shrek mac: [ID 486395 kern.info] NOTICE: ipw0 link down > Jul 17 18:59:40 shrek ipw: [ID 451854 kern.warning] WARNING: ipw0: ipw: RADIO > is OFF > Jul 17 18:59:40 shrek mac: [ID 744254 kern.info] NOTICE: ipw0 link up > Jul 17 18:59:40 shrek in.routed[447]: [ID 749644 daemon.notice] ipw0 has a > bad address 0.0.0.0 This is murder when trying to download something reasonably big, like an OS image-update :-( A Mac laptop in the same location can keep the connection up pretty much for ever; this behaviour seems peculiar to OS. Is this a known problem, and is there anything I can do to fix it? Cheers, Chris _______________________________________________ networking-discuss mailing list [email protected]
