Hi Chris, I'm sure you're right. I had considered grosbeak but it just struck me as sounding too low in tone (especially hearing it in life) compared to what I usually hear from rose-breasted grosbeak, and that sent me looking for other possibilities. I was probably just thinking too hard. . . wouldn't be the first time.
