I believe it would be really useful to include it as a standard 
component. The provided alerts are very useful and - since, 
unfortunately, we lack an security system that would automatically block 
such botnet scanning - when we notice increased botnet activity, we 
manually block the associated IP address(es) in a router ACL.

This, and the ability to display info about the protocols talked (by 
particular IP addresses), as I have requested in another thread, expands 
nfsen virtues to network security monitoring.

In that aspect, nfsen could be even more developed to analyze network 
behavioral patterns and alert administrators on possible threats, so 
they can examine in more detail. (That would be a killer feature, though 
I realize it is more complex to implement.)
