Pharmacometric Department of EMD-Serono, part of Global Early Development / Quantitative Pharmacology , contributes to clinical development efficiency by providing core expertise modeling & simulation in the quantification of the relationship between dose, exposure and responses, and factors affecting its variability. The Site Head of Pharmacometry will build the local team and lead it to success, in close collaboration with global head of Pharmacometry based in Europe and Global of Clinical Pharmacology based in Billerica. PURPOSE OF THE SITE HEAD ROLE The site head will report to the global head of pharmacometry. He will have her/his own pharmacometric project and will also have to recruit, train, lead and provide input and guidance to a local team of senior pharmacometricians who develop M&S methodologies and expertise in drug development and make them available to facilitate more efficient and informative clinical trials, inform decision making, and globally support Clinical Pharmacology, Clinical Teams and Projects. Main tasks will be: * Recruit and Lead the newly created team. * Own projects and design, execute, supervise and report pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic (PK/PD). * Utilize modeling and simulation analysis in order to support model informed drug development discovery. * Interact with clinical pharmacology, clinician and biostatistics teams. * Keep up-to-date with scientific development in PK/PD and share expertise with colleagues. QUALIFICATIONS OF THE SITE HEAD: * A PhD, MD, PharmD or Master and a minimum 10 years’ experience in PK/PD Modeling, with a minimum of 5 in (Bio)Pharmaceutical Industry are required * NONMEM and R experience is required. * Experience with XPose, PsN, MONOLIX, SIMULX, SIMCYP or similar pharmacometric modeling and simulation software is strongly preferred. * Demonstrated strong potential leadership in pharmacometry and management of people is required * Ability to communicate technical results and details effectively with scientists and clinicians is required. * Experience working in a dynamic matrix organization is also required. * Ability to be a team-player and work cross functionally is required. PURPOSE OF THE SENIOR SCIENTIST ROLE: * Elaborate, design, execute and report pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic (PK/PD) * Utilize modeling and simulation analysis to support model informed drug development discovery. * Collaborate with pharmacology, clinical and biostatistics teams. * Keep up-to-date with scientific development in PK/PD and share your own expertise with pharmacometric colleagues. QUALIFICATIONS OF THE SENIOR SCIENTIST * A PhD, MD, PharmD or Masters with a minimum of 4 years’ experience in PK/PD Modeling, and 2 years’ experience in (Bio)Pharmaceutical Industry are required. * NONMEM and R/SAS experience is also required * Experience with XPose, PsN, MONOLIX, SIMULX, SIMCYP, or similar pharmacometric modeling and simulation software is strongly preferred. * Ability to communicate technical results and details effectively with scientists and clinicians is required. * Experience working in a dynamic matrix organization is also required * Ability to be a team player and work cross functionally is also required.
