- Optimization of Perl
- Perl in general and Parrot/Perl 6

(systems administration / life science / web development)

We will accept various types of presentations:

 - Lightning Talks (5-7 minutes)
 - Standard Talks (30-60 minutes)
 - Panel Talks (30-90 minutes)

BOFs are expected to appear where and when necessary during the
workshop, we will try to accomodate these aswell If you want to attend
the workshop as a speaker please send a abstract of your talk (see the
submission section below for details).

Lightning Talks

Lightning talks are brief talks that focus on a single
example, idea, project, or technique. Lightning talks do not attempt to
cover all aspects of their subject matter, but rather to present one
facet of the idea clearly and succinctly. Lightning talks are an
excellent forum for first-time speakers. To submit a proposal for a
lightning talk, please send your proposed title and an abstract of up
to four sentences to: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>. or hand it in at the
conference registration.

Standard Talks

A standard talk is the preferred format. This is enough
time to start a topic, introduce it with some pithy slides, and open up
to later conversation (a BOF?). To submit a proposal for a
talk/presentation, please send your proposed title and an abstract to:
[EMAIL PROTECTED] Submissions are due by 15th. of february
midnight (CET). Submitters will be notified by end-of-day 29th. of
february. as to whether their talks have been accepted. If your
proposal is accepted, you will be expected to confirm within 24 hours
that you will give the talk; otherwise, your slot may be given to
someone else.

Panel Talks

This is a new kind of talk, with which we hope we will be
able to get more in to deep with some subjects. The concept is a talk
where the speaker acts more as a moderator and after giving a
presentation on the subject, a discussion can commence, the
speaker/moderator should invite special "panel- members" and domain
experts.

We evaluate submissions for Panel Talks very seriously also because
they are on a more experimental level and we might ask the speaker to
have a standard talk if we do not find the subject or the submission
interesting enough to be able to support a Panel talk.

The speaker/moderator should in the submission list the names of the
special invites and is responsible for the invitations personally, we
will of course help out where and if we can.

Submission

Please submit your abstracts/papers to
<[EMAIL PROTECTED]>, your paper will be reviewed by our
programme committee. If you have something, which does not fit the
formats we have listed, please feel free to contacts us anyway and we
will evaluate it.

Workshop organizers reserve the right to change the length assigned to
a talk, if deemed neccessary. If you want to speak on multiple topics,
please submit a seperate proposal for each one.

Together with your abstract or abstracts please include:

A little information about yourself (and possibly an link to an image
of your choosing - preferrably yourself) A indication of preferred
language and possible languages the presentation can be given in An
indication of the length of the presentation A listing of any
requirements you might have for doing your presentation apart from
projectors, which will be available and we will try to accomodate this.

If possible please have your abstract ready for us for online
publishing in one of the following file formats. The files are also
