v4.0.2 definitely has issues ALT+TABing between applications on Windows XP SP2
(at least).
Run NP++ v4.0.2, ALT+TAB to another application then ALT+TAB back and the text
cursor no longer has focus in the NP++ edit window - you have to click in the
edit area before you can start typing again.
v4.0.1 does not exhibit this behaviour and works as you'd expect.

I've delete the explorer.dll from plugins/ and the bug is going away...
maybe here is a problem?

New features I would like to see:
- Export/Import for synta highlighter
- Place to read PHP manual (NOT alt+F1) need offline support
- Improve File Assocation in settings (make it possible to select multiple
extensions. Its annoying having to select one then click move it accross and
have to repeat this 10 times over again!)
- Spelling mistake under "Favourites".. right click any item and it says "New
Groop..."
- Customised toolbar? I'd like to arrange my icons in a particular order or
turn them off to increase work space
- Get rid of the "[]" round folders? It looks real silly
MAJOR DOCKING BUG!
- When moving the favourites tab while explorer tab was open it would not stop
moving and caused a crash and stop my mouse from clicking.
I must say, I have been using this for just over 2 hours and it seems a really
nice program BUT it has some real annoyances. I was looking for something that
would replace "Notepad 2" for me because all I want is simplicity and not an
IDE editor.

Hi All,
I am using notepad++ v4.0.2. I would like to make a suggestion to improve
notepad++.
It is a feature available in Crimson Editor 3.70. It has an inbuilt FTP
feature
to
Edit remote files directly using built-in FTP client
- open, edit, and save documents in remote FTP servers.
- save account information (encoded) for automatic logon.
It would be very useful if the above feature is incorporated.
Guys!! What do u think abt it?

An option for read only viewing of large files, such as viewing log files, you
can use BareTail (baremetalsoft.com). There's a free version, no install 220k
exe, can view files > 2 GB in real-time such when "tailing" a log file.

Thanks for the great work!!
I became a big big fan of Notepad++ after used a lot other text editors
(including
some commericial products) and now keep promoting it to my colleagues :)
I previously used v3.9 and always look forward a new version coming out. then
I tried v4.0.2 yesterday and found v4.0.2 is SOMETIMES very slower than v3.9
especially when I was editing some c source files, not very bigger file, around
3500 lines. it never happened on v3.9.
Also, Ctrl+Shift+B seems not working in v4.0.2 any more.
Keep going ahead, we all support you!

Yes, I miss that too.
Directory scope is a good way to look for files whatever language (PHP, C,
etc.);
I think it's easier to implement than deal includes and requires for PHP,
#include
for C, etc. (Javascript would be one of the worst! Imagine dealing <link>
tags...).

Notepad++ is a great tool! Best of php editors I have experienced!
So, I'd like a syntax baloon help. I have a text file with functions, parameters
and a brief description for PHP4. I can find manually one function in that file,
and I can save a macro for that, but I would like a little baloon above the
function with that info when I press Ctrl+F1 over the function (for instance).

Hi, you may want to look at the Find/Replace dialog of TextFX (Go to
TextFX->TextFX
Quick->Find/Replace or press Ctrl+R). It is very confortable for multy line
replacements and have most of the optinons you want for regular expressions
hints.
About the "\r\n" problem - I have logged the following feature request and hope
that the N++ developer(s) will implemet it:

atid=612385 (there are so many feature request though, so I'm not sure they
will have the time to pay attention to it).
