thanks for your reply. I works with your minimal example, but not with my file. When I try this
\setuptabulate[|w(.3\textwidth)|p|]
this setup command expects key/value pairs, and since the = is missing, tex sees a \textwidth (being a dimension register) and therefore expects some assignment
