Hi Ralf I keep TeX Live on my Mac. It’s a great fall-back when I have new version surprises with ConTeXt.
tug.org/mactex/ TeX Live has a friendly installer. Updates are easy with TeX Live Utility. TeX Live has a version of ConTeXt from last May, and it’s quite a good version, in my opinion. (ConTeXt ver: 2023.05.05 18:36 LMTX fmt: 2023.12.18) If you need any LaTeX stuff for some reason, it’s all there in TeX Live.
