I have a somewhat related question in that I am creating a document that will be used as an appendix to other documents. So, I can control the various aspects of the PDF that is created and use \copypages. What I want to do is number the pages A-1, etc. (or B-1, etc. depending on which appendix it will be placed). That will avoid coordinating page numbers with those in the documents to which it will be appended. What I can't figure out how to do is to prefix the pagenumber with A- (or B-). It is probably a simple matter but I can't figure out how to do it.
