I usually define my own reference formats, “ineq” for equations, “infig”
for figures:

As seen from \ineq[eq:1] and \ineq[eq:2], referring equations is
straight forward.

That is the numbers are always surrounded by ( , ).

But there is no (), when we referece it.
What is the difference between MWE and mathalign.pdf.
