You say it's a DNS server as well. Just make sure you move everything that is pointing to it for DNS to another server.

One of the 2008 servers holds all FMSO roles. This has been checked by: [cid:image001.jpg@01D060AB.9C2E2B90] The 2003 box ISNT DC01. The domain is at a 2003 functional level. The only other service that the 2003 DC runs is Active Directory DNS. I want to remove the server from the domain, and with the above there is nothing more to do then DCPROMO it, demote it, remove it from the domain and turn it off? In the longer term I'm bringing a couple of 2012R2 DC's on-stream to replace the 2008 boxes.
