I did R&D for Williams International for a year - Most fun job I ever had. Unfortunately R&D gets cut and everyone goes home. Never did get to go back. Also did R&D for a Ceramics company for a couple of years. Great fun designing new products with the properties you want/need. From there I got pulled into IT. More money and stress but less fun.
