+1 Seems lots of folks who have existing FC environments might be tempted to continue down that path, but if you don’t, and you’re looking at a primarily VM environment, ISCSI would probably fit your needs fine. Remember, you can also upgrade to 10GB Ethernet if you REALLY need that level of bandwidth (which you probably don’t).

That being said I found that while the fiber has better throughput (we also have an old 2Gb EMC AX150 fiber SAN) It was a lot more expensive to set up (Fiber switches aren’t cheap) and of course you need some marginal capability in configuring said switch.
