This evening a nonbreeding Clay-colored Sparrow quite literally replaced the
female Dickcissel (from Friday) on the West End lot 2 "island." At one point
the small sparrow flock frequenting the island took off for the shelter of the
shrubs immediately around the West End 2 pavillion. Again, for those unfamiliar
with the location, throwing the following stream of numbers into Google's map
feature will reveal the exact location:

40.585172,-73.560607

Despite strong onshore winds, no notable pelagics were seen except one Royal
Tern. A young White-crowned Sparrow continued in the Coast Guard Station
hedgerow, and a male Hooded Warbler briefly joined the sparrows on the West End
parking lot 2 island.
