A sea watch at Robert Moses State Park Field 2 from 7:45-10:00 a.m. today was very productive. The highlights were 7 Parasitic Jaegers and 14 Royal Terns. The jaegers included four adults and one dark morph immature. All were flying west close to shore, and harrassing gulls and terns along the way. Other birds in the flight included one Forster's Tern, approximately 250 Double-Crested Cormorants, 400 Laughing Gulls, 225 Northern Gannets, and small numbers of all 3 scoters, and both loons.

Another highlight was a Short-eared Owl flying and landing in the dunes near the boardwalk just east of Field 5.
