At about 3:30 today there was a very unusual American tree sparrow at the  
Jones Beach Coast Guard Station. It had the rufous cap and two white wing 
bars  as normal, however its head was not gray, but spotty black.  Above what  
would be the rufous eye line was a slight bit of gray before the cap. Also 
at  West End @ parking lot was an adult lesser black backed gull, and 
leaving the  West End area there was a single pipit in the median. Pat Jones,
