We had nine species of warblers at Southard's Pond this morning, highlighted by
a singing Hooded Warbler. The warbler was last heard in the woods east of the
Babylon Elementary School on Park Ave. at about 10:30AM. Also present were
Pine, Palm, Black-throated Green, Ovenbird, Yellow-rumped, Yellow, Black &
White, and Common Yellowthroat. Other birds observed were Gray Catbird, House
Wren, Blue-headed and White-eyed Vireos, and Rusty Blackbird.

A search for the previously reported Swallow-tailed Kite at Robert Moses State
Park was unsuccessful. The bird had been reported flying west from Field 2;
birders are currently driving Ocean Parkway looking for the bird.
