Jones Beach SP and Pt. Lookout 15 Nov.

Joe Giunta, Sam Jannazzo, and I (Sy Schiff) found the DICKCISSEL as soon as we
arrived at the Coast Guard Station parking lot.. It was cooperative but wary
along with the House Sparrows it was with. We then walked to the end of the
marina and observed 2 MARBLED GODWITS on the bar. The bar contained a large
assortment of BLACK-BELLIED PLOVER, AMERICAN OYSTERCATCHERS AND DUNLIN. Of
interest were 30+ RED KNOT.

We walked the median and continued to the turnaround. There are almost no small
birds anywhere. The breeding birds have left, the migrant don't seem to have
come and winter birds haven't arrived. We did see a few HOUSE FINCH and a
single female PURPLE FINCH.

Joe and I went over to Pt. Lookout--a few COMMON LOONS but no grebes. Off the
west jetty were 25-30 COMMON EIDER. No Harlequins yet.
