Fellow Birders;
    After waiting for almost 90 minutes this morning, I finally spotted the
Hooded Warbler at Oakland Lake (Queens County), albeit briefly, as it flew
upstream quickly. I stayed only long enough to alert a couple of birders in
the area. The bird has been seen at the southwest corner of the lake, enter
from Springfield Blvd-- I am fairly certain that I heard it sing from upstream
of the path (I am not terribly familiar with the song), so it may demand a bit
of patience to get it down by the lake. Another good FOS bird for me was a
Chestnut-sided Warbler, seemingly early. That stuck around for lesss than a
minute, then headed east. Good luck if you go!
Cheers,
