Today at around Noon, while scanning the colonies I noticed 2 Royal Terns loafing in front of the old Skimmer colony (west side of Nickerson), as well as Two Gull-billed Terns overhead.
The Gull-Billed Terns have been here on the regular, but it was my first sighting of Royals since Spring. The Black Skimmers had a late hatch this year, and have many small chicks within the colony, with a small amount of fledged juveniles in the area as well. Happy Birding!
