Today, between 1000 and 1445, I was one of the volunteers at the combined
ELIAS/ QWR Fall Seed Sale, held at the Quogue Wildlife Refuge in Quogue.
While helping customers get their purchases (seed, bird feeders, etc.) out
to their cars, I was rewarded with a very close, and unobstructed view of
my FOS Winter Wren, a Sharp-shinned Hawk flying low over the
parking-lot, creating much mayhem among the avian population, and a female
Golden-crowned Kinglet, remaining in a small, bare tree (only ~ 3' from the
front door) long enough for most of the folks inside, to get outside and
see this cute creature...some for the first time !

I finished the day out with a fast tour of Dune Rd, during which I had 2
N.Harriers
and a flyover, FOS Great Cormorant.

Cheers,
Bob
