I checked Gerry Park today and found neither Cackling Goose nor Greater
White-fronted Goose. However, there were four Wood Ducks, six or seven
Hooded Mergansers, and seventeen Gadwalls, in addition to the normal
residents: Canada Geese, Mallards, and Herring and Ring-billed Gulls. There
were also two American Coots present and I saw three Red-tailed Hawks over
the pond.

"The assumption that animals are without rights, and the illusion that our
treatment of them has no moral significance, is a positively outrageous
example of Western crudity and barbarity. Universal compassion in the only
guarantee of morality.”
