My wife and I looked (without much effort) along dune road for the Snowy
Owl and did not find it.

EPCAL (calverton grasslands) had a minimum of 30 Kestrel on the western
runway - with probably an equal amount on the easter (potentially a bit
less due to the operation of the skydive outfit today). The birds were
literally everywhere and there was a lot of movement. Plenty of red-tailed
hawks as well, only a few eastern meadowlarks.

2 Osprey at Woodhull dam in Riverside including one right above my head
patiently waiting for a fish to show up so it could pounce with as little
effort as possible.

Yesterday I visited one of the Long Island South Shore Bald Eagle nests.
The "adult" was way out on the marsh and sat there, refusing to move
despite osprey, crows and a few passing boats. There were at least 6
osprey in the vicinity, all posturing for territory and the nest across the
creek from the Eagle featured 2 birds with some courtship display including
"sky-dancing" and delivering a freshly caught fish.
