Looking at my photos, one of the Caspian Terns seen on Monday, Sept 14, on the sand bar by the Jones Beach Coast Guard Station had a pale yellow band on its left leg which read N2. Unfortunately, the silver (gray?) band on the right leg was both partially obscured by a gull's tail and far enough away that it is not really legible (although I could try for two of the numbers if pressed). Is the left leg band enough to yield useful information?
