Wednesday, 25 May, 2016 - Near the end of a lengthy list of species found this Wed. morning in Central Park (Manhattan, N.Y. City) is one NOT seen - evening grosbeak, which is not exactly expected now - & generally rare at any season in NYC. (this was a cut-&-paste error, with apologies to anyone else (in addition to several sharp-eyed readers) who wondered if that would not be a rather highlighted species... yes, it most certainly would at any time of year in NYC.) ... in another month of May, quite long ago, there were however 3 grosbeak species (in differing genera) seen at same day in Central, very unlikely to happen again any day (or year, or decade) soon here. And yes, one of the 3 was (way back then) eve., while the others were: blue & the usual & typical May-migrant rose-breasted.
