  The Buffalo Bird Report is a service provided by your
  Buffalo Museum of Science and the Buffalo Ornithological
  Society. To contact the Science Museum, call 896-5200. Press
  the pound key to report sightings before the end of this
  report.

  Highlights of reports received May 26 through June 2 from
  the Niagara Frontier Region.

  June 1, an unexpected SANDHILL CRANE at the Lakeside Turf
  Farms at County and Goodrich Roads in Clarence.

  WHIP-POOR-WILLS are summer specialties on the Niagara
  Peninsula of Ontario. May 28, at least 3 WHIP-POOR-WILLS on
  Erie Peat Road, by the Wainfleet Bog area. Also by the bog,
  COMMON NIGHTHAWK, YELLOW-BILLED CUCKOO, ALDER FLYCATCHER, 2
  MOURNING WARBLERS, OVENBIRD, BLUE-WINGED WARBLER and
  AMERICAN REDSTART.

  Continuing at the Niagara River by Old Fort Erie in Ontario,
  two males and one female ORCHARD ORIOLE, and a singing male
  PINE WARBLER. Another ORCHARD ORIOLE nearby at Windmill
  Point.

  Trailing edge of migrant warblers at Amherst State Park on
  May 28 - 7 BLACKPOLL WARBLERS, MAGNOLIA WARBLER, BL.-THR.
  GREEN WARB. and WILSON'S WARBLER. Plus, YELLOW-BILLED CUCKOO
  by Ellicott Creek, BLACK-BILLED CUCKOO and BOBOLINK in the
  meadow, and an unexpected GOLDEN-CR. KINGLET in the
  evergreens by the St. Mary's building.

  In Cattaraugus County, MERLINS nesting by the Allegany River
  near Gargoyle Park in the Town of Allegany.

  The last BOS meeting of the season will be the picnic
  meeting at Tifft Nature Preserve in Buffalo, at 6 PM on
  Wednesday, May 8. Bring your dinner, and plan for an evening
  hike through the preserve.

  The Bird Report will be updated Thursday evening, June 9.
  Please call in your sightings by noon Thursday. You may
  report sightings after the tone. Thank you for calling and
