On the Delaware River just above Sparrowbush, NY a couple of days beck, I saw a waterfowl far off that I didn't pay too much mind to. An imm. Eagle made a halfhearted pass over this waterfowl and it called.It was the call of a common loon. It dove, but surfaced again, and was able to identify it by sight with binoculars. It seemed to be loitering in flat water 300 yds. or so upstream of Cherry Island.
