An uptick in shorebirds on the pond was observed today. Most of the increase were Semipalmated Sandpipers estimated at near 800.
Overall, the diversity remain low with 1 STILT SANDPIPER being the highlight. The water level is definitely dropping again and we should have good shoreline within a week or so. As promised, I cleared paths on the overgrown south end and around Shriber's Slew. Juvenile shorebirds remain low with a few Lesser Yellowlegs and Least Sandpipers present. Still looking for that massive push of shorebirds yet to arrive on the pond.
