OBS: Robert DeCandido, PhD on bird walk starting from the Conservatory Garden 
(9am-10:15am)

Weather conditions deteriorated quickly this morning, windy with rain arriving 
shortly after 10am. The best spot this morning was just north and west of Fort 
Clinton. 

Highlights: 14 species of Wood Warblers, female Green-winged Teal, & Savannah 
Sparrow.

Mallard - Meer
Green-winged Teal (American) - female Meer
Ring-billed Gull - flyovers
Herring Gull - flyovers
Double-crested Cormorant - flyover
Osprey - flyover
Red-tailed Hawk - local
Red-bellied Woodpecker - local
Downy Woodpecker - local
Northern Flicker - 5
American Kestrel - local
Red-eyed Vireo - 5
Crow species - 7 (silent)
Red-breasted Nuthatch - 2 in pines at Fort Clinton
House Wren 
Ruby-crowned Kinglet - 5
Gray Catbird - numbers increasing - some feeding on Yew berries in Conservatory 
Garden
Northern Mockingbird - 4 Green Bench
House Finch - 5-7 Fort Clinton
Ovenbird - along the Loch
Black-and-white Warbler - 3
Nashville Warbler - brushy area south of Fort Clinton

Northern Parula - 3
Magnolia Warbler - Green Bench
Bay-breasted Warbler - east slope of Fort Clinton

Black-throated Blue Warbler - 5 various locations
