OBS: Deborah Allen, m.ob. on bird walk starting from the Boathouse at 9:30am

Many birds spotted today by birders from Suffolk & Norfolk (UK) 

Gadwall - 5 Reservoir
Mallard - 40+ Reservoir, at least 30 on Turtle Pond
Northern Shoveler - around 2 dozen Turtle Pond
Bufflehead - 5 Reservoir (before & after walk)
Hooded Merganser - 7 (3 Turtle Pond, 4 Reservoir)
Pied-billed Grebe - 1 Reservoir (before walk)
Mourning Dove 
American Coot - 7 Reservoir
Ring-billed Gull
Herring Gull
Great Black-backed Gull
Only around 350 gull on the Reservoir at 8am, but at least twice as many later 
in the morning
Accipiter species - low flyover Locust Grove
Sharp-shinned Hawk - low flyover near Bow Bridge
Red-tailed Hawk - adult perched at Delacorte Theater (immature bird perched at 
84th & 5th Ave after walk)
Red-bellied Woodpecker - residents
Yellow-bellied Sapsucker - Pinetum
Downy Woodpecker - residents including pair between Maintenance & Tupelo Fields
Blue Jay - everywhere
American Crow - heard
Black-capped Chickadee - several locations
Tufted Titmouse - 22
Red-breasted Nuthatch - Pinetum
White-breasted Nuthatch - 6
Hermit Thrush - Sparrow Rock (before walk)
Estornino Pinto - (a.k.a. European Starling) waiting for french fries at 
Boathouse
American Goldfinch - Laupot Bridge
Fox Sparrow 2 (1 Maint. Field - tip from Wolfgang Demisch), 1 Bow Bridge)
White-throated Sparrow - many
Northern Cardinal - residents
Common Grackle - flock of around 200 roving around the Ramble

Wolfgang Demisch reported a Brown Thrasher on the south side of Turtle Pond 
(Castle Walk).
