Central Park,  Manhattan,  N.Y. City

(Thanks to Nancy Pinnell, for 'eBirding' her sighting of a Red- throated Loon which she photographed nicely very late in the day on Wednesday 2/15, at the Central Park reservoir);
- -
as of 8 a.m. this Thursday (2/16) morning there were, at the reservoir:

Red-throated  Loon (1)
Common Loon (1)
Red-necked Grebe (1)
Pied-billed Grebe (2)

These are all in basic ("winter") plumage, and all have been moving about the entire reservoir when viewed. There are also a few Double- crested Cormorants in the park, which tend to come & go: often one or more in the reservoir, to be sorted out in grebe & loon-seeking.

No white-winged gulls noticed (yet), but the best time for more gull activity - numbers - is often after mid-morning at Central Park, this varies with weather and other factors; gulls generally do not stay in or roost in Central overnight in any high numbers, if at all.

2 Ring-necked Ducks (hen & drake) had moved to the lake, but may be moving about the park's water-bodies as well as other ducks; Hooded Mergansers are of late more numerous at the Meer than on any of the other park water-bodies.

More American Robins are about, & perhaps some other early-wanderers about, to be sought and reported on (robins at this date may be wandering in from any & all points on the compass) - & there have been ongoing smallish movements of Red-winged Blackbirds, & some other Icteridae.

Cranes are moving through the American south and southern midwest - Sandhills the 'default' species, of course...

Good luck,
