Did some birding in southern Erie County hoping to find the Wood Stork seen by Mary-Ann Ingrao w/o any luck (it had been seen yesterday and Tuesday, if I understand correctly).
That being said, the day was still productive. I had *1 each* of *Yellow-billed *and* Black-billed Cuckoos* (YB at Sturgeon Point, an unexpected BB at Bennett Beach), *5 Red-headed Woodpecker*s (2 at Wendt Beach, 1 at Bennett Beach, and 2 on Lakeshore just east of Evangola SP), *1 Semi Sandpiper* and *14 American Avocets* at Bennett Beach. On the way home, I saw *1 Merlin* that was harrying a Red-tailed Hawk near Juno and Route 5 in Hamburg.
