Grasshopper sparrow at Alley Pond Park (April 29) at 9:30am, in Northern Queens County.
Seen at the Northern edge of the football field closest to Douglaston parkway parking lot. It flew up from the mowed grass and perched in a small tree next to the two green team benches. It was a hanging out with chipping sparrow, at the trailing end of a flock of about 30 chipping sparrow. The flock was moving East towards the Baseball field and parking lot. I Could not find the bird again.
