Salutations:

While engaged in trail clearing efforts on the southend of the East Pond at
Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge (JBWR), I noticed a small flock of Ibis’ dropping
in and decided to fetch my bins for a look as one looked “sus.”

Sure enough, the suspect turned out to be a White-faced Ibis (WFIB).
Thankfully, I had exercised due diligence by having my Spotting Scope get up
with me so I was able to grab a few digiscope shots which I just tweeted out
here: https://twitter.com/birdingdude/status/1404147190386331649?s=21

If you do try for the WFIB, please note that the Ibis flock tend to be very
skittish and will bolt if you are not quiet. I shaped out a bit of a blind in
the Phragmites on the Southend corner that gives one a nice, somewhat
camouflaged look into the area the Ibis flock tends to frequent.

There is still some work left on the Southend but for the most part, it is
finished. Next week, I will begin trail clearing on the Northend and hopefully
get NPS involved.

Cheers,
