Montezuma National Wildlife Refuge (MNWR) and Montezuma Wetlands Complex (MWC)
------------

     10/13: A WHITE-RUMPED SANDPIPER and 9 LONG-BILLED DOWITCHERS were seen at 
the Visitor’s Center. 
     10/16: A BLACK-BELLIED PLOVER and a LONG-BILLED DOWITCHER were seen at 
Knox-Marsellus Marsh.
     10/10: A CATTLE EGRET and a WILSON’S PHALAROPE were seen in the fields on 
Armitage Road. The long staying GLOSSY IBIS was still being seen on the 
Wildlife Trail.


Onondaga County
------------

     10/12: A YELLOW-BILLED CUCKOO which appeared to be injured was seen on 
DeMong Hill in Syracuse.
     10/14: 2 SHORT-EARED OWLS were seen in flight at Three Rivers WMA north of 
Baldwinsville. Also found there was a GRAY-CHEEKED THRUSH giving night calls.
     10/15: The LAUGHING GULL being seen regularly on Onondaga Lake near the 
Ampitheater was still being seen this day. A possible YELLOW-THROATED WARBLER 
was reported from Labrador Hollow.


Oswego County
------------

     10/12: A RED-HEADED WOODPECKER was seen on Rt. 10 south of Rt. 12 in 
Pennelville.
     10/13: A GLAUCOUS GULL and a LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULL were seen at the 
Outlet of Sandy Pond on Lake Ontario.
     10/15: 10 species of Shorebirds including an AMERICAN GOLDEN PLOVER were 
seen at the Sandy Pond Outlet.
     10/16: A PARASITIC JAEGER and 5 BLACK SCOTERS were seen from the bluff at 
Derby Hill on Lake Ontario.
     10/17: 2 PARASITIC JAEGERS were seen from St. Pauls Cemetery over Lake 
Ontario in Oswego. 2 LITTLE GULLS, a FRANKLIN’S GULL, all 3 SCOTER species and 
200 BRANT were seen from the bluff at Derby Hill on Lake Ontario. Also seen 
there was a late CHIMNEY SWIFT.


Oneida County
------------

     10/14: 9 GREAT EGRETS were seen at Utica Marsh.


Herkimer County
--------------

     10/13: A GREAT EGREET was seen near the Mohawk River in Little Falls.
     10/15: A NORTHERN GOSHAWK was seen on Black Creek Road north of Newport.
