January 31, 2022

Montezuma National Wildlife Refuge (MNWR) and Montezuma Wetlands Complex (MWC)

     1/26: A WHITE-CROWNED SPARROW was seen from Rt. 89 on the west side of the 
complex.







Cayuga County

------------




     1/28: A GRAY CATBIRD was seen at the Sterling Nature Center.

     1/29: A HERMIT THRUSH was seen at the sterling Nature Center.







Onondaga County

------------




     1/25: A LAPLAND LONGSPUR was seen in a manure spread with Snow Buntings 
and Horned Larks on Rickard Road east of Skaneateles.

     1/27: An EASTERN TOWHEE continues on Reeves Road at the south end of Cross 
Lake. A PEREGRINE FALCON was seen at the Honeywell Center on the west side of 
Onondaga Lake.

     1/28: A LONG-EARED OWL was found on the West Shore Trail of Onondaga Lake.

     1/29: A LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULL and an ICELAND GULL were seen at the 
Inner Harbor at the south end of Onondaga Lake in Syracuse.

     1/30: An EASTERN TOWHEE was seen at a feeder on Velasco Road in Syracuse. 
A YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLER was seen on the West Shore Trail of Onondaga Lake. A 
SNOWY OWL was seen at Hancock Airport.







Oswego County

------------




     1/28: A HERMIT THRUSH was seen at Rice Creek Field Station south of Oswego.

     1/29: An ICELAND GULL was seen at one of the Fulton Locks on the Oswego 
River.

     1/30: A PEREGRINE FALCON was seen at Brietbeck Park in Oswego.

     1/31: A NORTHERN GOSHAWK was seen at a private residenceon Hinman Road 
north of Pulaski.







Madison County

     1/30: 2 ICELAND GULLS were seen on Ditchbank Road north of Canastota.







Oneida County

-------------




     1/24: A SNOWY OWL was seen on Perimeter Road in Rome.







Herkimer County

------------




     1/28: A PINE SISKIN was seen at a feeder in Dolgeville. Both RED and 
WHITE-WINGED CROSSBILLS were seen gritting at Atwell on North Creek Road north 
of Forestport. Both species were found again on 1/29 and 1/30.
