In going over photos from a kayak paddle today in Jamaica Bay, I discovered what appears to be an adult Neotropic Cormorant that was roosting on the northeastern sandbar of Yellow Bar Hassock at about 9:45 am. Since other individuals of this species in the area have returned repeatedly to the same locations, it may be worth looking for it with a scope from the former breach on the West Pond at Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge.
