Sorry Lance, I saw your comment yesterday but didn't have the time then to look into this. So after checking, the content of the 'dao-memory' module is deprecated and actually shouldn't have been imported in Ode's trunk. Theses are the in-memory DAOs for what used to be PXE's messaging bus.
The "real" in-memory DAOs used by the engine seem to have been lost at some point during the iapi refactoring as you mentioned in your issue. But I'll have a look at it now and will bring them back.
