Thanks for the answer Matthieu I'd like to take a quick look at this... as I'm not so familiar with the project, could you please give me some guidance on where to start looking at this ? should I start at dao-hibernate and dao-hibernate-db-derby ?

It's also an incubated project and has been donated by BEA (it's mostly what used to be SolarMetric Kodo). Would you be interested in helping out implementing this?
