I think that's a good idea... although I haven't looked at how Saxon
dynamically loads the classes and whether it supports any custom hooks for
doing so.

What about enhancing the JBI deployer so that you could deploy such
functions inside the SU (for example by loading all jars inside the
/lib folder, or using something in the jbi descriptor) ? Modifying the
