We mostly use hibernate, but the change to OpenJPA does not bother us,
becose we use ODE as a black box. On the other hand, kept under control
ODE's persistence layer knowledge is pretty convenient (we really know what
is going on)  ;-).

There's no immediate desire to remove Hibernate from the codebase.   I
think
it will stay with us at least until the OpenJPA alternative is deemed
stable
and production-ready (I'm guessing a month or two).   After that, it's
mostly a question of how fast it becomes a liability to the project in
terms
of maintenance and support.

Do you have a strong inclination for Hibernate?
